What we do...

Provide Information: CADCOR distributes fact sheets, newsletters, brochures; creates billboards, ads, and public service announcements; holds meetings, forums, and is on the web.

Enhance Skills: CADCOR offers a variety of training's and workshops to members, staff, and friends to increase abilities to create population change.

Provide Support: CADCOR creates opportunities to help other groups reduce risk and increase protection of our citizens.

Enhance access/reduce barriers: CADCOR works to create an environment where all residents will have the same opportunities to take advantage of everything our county and state have to offer.

Change consequences: CADCOR works to create incentives for increasing protective factors and decreasing risk factors in our community.

Physical design: CADCOR encourages increased lighting, green space, removal of abandoned or derelict buildings and works to limit the density of alcohol establishments.

Modifying/changing policies: CADCOR believes that laws and ordinances on underage drinking should be enforced and modified as need recommends.

Our two main goals...
1. Reduce substance abuse among youth in Rutherford County and, over time, among adults by addressing the factors that increase the risk an promoting the factors that minimize the risk.
2. Strengthen the collaboration among communities, agencies, and local governments to support the efforts of CADCOR in order to develop a comprehensive, multi-sector, research-driven plan for combating substance abuse.
